HERE'S TODAY'S SCHEDULE: 1. Reading - try to read 20 minutes today. 2. ReadWorks - 1) Click on "Natural Events" Paired Texts; 2) Read Passage 1: "Weathering and Erosion" 3) Read Passage 2: "Avalanche!"; 4) Answer the 6 questions (reminder: if you click on the book icon in the top right corner, you can see the passage while you are answering the questions); 5) Click on the blue SUBMIT rectangle when finished answering the 6th question. 3. Scholastic Magazine - This week's issue is: "This Plant Stinks." 1) Watch the video for this issue; 2) Go over the vocabulary slides; 3) Complete "Read and Think" worksheet (I sent as an attachment in this morning's email). Make sure to use each question in your answer AND use your magazine as a resource when answering your questions. 4. Math - This week's focus is Recognize/Draw Shapes. 1) Practice your addition and subtraction facts 0-20 (flashcards or Fact Dash); 2) Practice telling time throughout the day using an analog clock; 3) Practice adding and subtracting different amounts of money (coins and dollars); 4) Review the Shapes Vocabulary Page (I sent as an attachment in Monday morning's email); 5) Create a design of your choice (can be 3D) using at least 6 of the following 8 vocabulary words on your Shapes Vocabulary Page: square, rectangle, triangle, trapezoid, parallelogram, pentagon, hexagon, and circle. You can use as many of each shape that you need in your creation. Just make sure you use at least 6 of the shapes in your design. 6) Email me a picture of your design if you can. 5. Writing - Continue working on your Personal Narrative - a true story about your life. 1) Please watch Episode 3: "Writing an Introduction" and then in your Writing Journal (remember to write today's date: 4/15/2020) write an introduction (about 4-5 sentences) for your personal narrative. Be creative so that it "hooks" your reader!! Reread each sentence out loud to make sure it makes sense. Grammar - Complete Weekly Word Wizard - Set 4, Week 1, #1-9 (I sent as an attachment in this morning's email). 7. Moby Max - continue with the lessons I have assigned.
