Math - complete the worksheet and use your decomposing strategies to find the sums of the 3 digit numbers plus 2 digit numbers. Remember to also include addition with BTBs for each equation. Spelling - start studying your words for Friday's test. Focus on the open, closed, and hyphenated compound words. Words this week are: softball, nighttime, someone, high school, cherry pie, fire drill, part-time, ice-skater, good-bye, and homework. Reading - read towards your 200 Book Club stickers.
Math - practice decomposing addition and subtraction problems and then writing your answer in word form. PLEASE CHECK OUT OUR CLASS SEESAW ACCOUNT!!! WE UPLOADED OUR STEM CHALLENGE THAT WE COMPLETED IN CLASS TODAY!!! WHEW!! We survived a full 5 day week of school!! The kids worked hard this week and hopefully we are back on track. Today we had our STEM Showcase and I was so proud of all the children as they worked with their partner to create their message on protecting the rights of children. Their challenge was to choose if they were Jackie Robinson or Martin Luther King, Jr. and then decide how they would share their message using 21st century technology. Here is what we are learning next week: Math- Addition/Subtraction up to 1,000 using models and drawings. Continue with decomposing addition and subtraction equations. Reading/ELA- Folk tales and fairy tales. We will be looking at story structure and asking/answering questions. Commas and expanding/rearranging sentences. Writing- Opinion Writing; we will be writing letters/reviews on our favorite books and characters. Social Studies/Science- Finishing with Jackie Robinson and MLK, Jr./Juliette Gordon Low, Character Traits. *If your child submitted a tryout form for the Tritt Variety and Talent show by Thursday the 25th, please visit Mrs. Yunek's blog for your child's tryout time.
