HAPPY HUMP DAY TEAM SMITH!!! IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT IT'S ALREADY APRIL 1ST WHICH MEANS IT'S APRIL FOOL'S DAY!!! IT'S ALSO THE 152ND DAY OF 2ND GRADE!!! THE WEATHERMAN SAID IT'S SUPPOSE TO BE PARTLY CLOUDY TODAY, SO GO OUT AND PLAY IN THE FRESH AIR!!!! RIDE YOUR BIKE, JUMP ROPE, GO FOR A LONG WALK, LISTEN TO THE BIRDS, CHECK OUT YOUR SHADOW, WATCH FOR MONARCH BUTTERFLIES AND OTHER INSECTS, PLAY BASKETBALL, THROW A BASEBALL/FOOTBALL, PLANT SOME FLOWERS, WASH A CAR!!! JUST ENJOY NOT BEING COOPED UP IN THE HOUSE BECAUSE OF RAIN!!! WE HAVE OUR 6TH ZOOM MEETING THIS MORNING AT 10:00. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE EVERYONE!! HERE IS TODAY'S SCHEDULE OF ASSIGNMENTS: Reading - try to read 20 minutes and write in your Reading Journal (today's date is 4/1/20) what the main idea of what you read was about. What was the message the author was trying to tell you with the characters of your book or the characters in the chapter(s) you read? Make sure you reread each sentence you write to make sure it makes sense. Use those capital letters and punctuation marks!! YOU SHOULD BE DOING YOUR BEST WORK JUST LIKE YOU DO IN OUR CLASSROOM AT TRITT!!! Scholastic Magazine - 1) watch the video for this week's issue; 2) go over the vocabulary slides; 3) Complete your Read and Think worksheet - use your question in your answer just like we do in school. Reread your answers out loud to make sure you hear what you wrote and that what you wrote makes sense. Math - practice your addition and subtraction facts 0-20. Practice telling time with an analog clock. Practice adding and subtracting different amounts of money (coins and dollars). Complete wkbk pg. 386, #20-22 and Write Math. Writing - write your letter (at least 5 sentences) to your pen pal buddy in the classroom and mail. Reread your letter out loud to make sure your sentences make sense. Remember your capital letters and periods. Parents, please help with addressing the envelope. Thank you! Spelling - write each of your 5 words five times using a blue crayon/colored pencil for the vowels and a red crayon/colored pencil for the consonants.
