HERE'S TODAY'S SCHEDULE: 1. Reading - We will be finishing our Charlotte's Web unit this week. You will be reading chapters 19 & 20 Monday, chapters 21 & 22 Wednesday, and completing a Charlotte's Web Kahoot on Thursday. I will be sending your Vocabulary List for chapters 19-22 as an attachment in today's email as well as your Reading Response Sentence Starters for chapters 19-22 as an attachment in today's email to complete in your Reading Journal. Please glue the vocabulary list in your journal and if you want you can glue the Reading Responses too. During our Monday and Wednesday Zoom Meetings, I will read 1 chapter to you as you follow along. That 2nd chapter, you will need to read with a parent, sibling, or another family member. You will need to complete your Reading Response for each chapter in your Reading Journal also. 2. Scholastic Magazine - This week's issue is: "Butterflies are Back!." 1) Watch the video for this issue; 2) Go over the vocabulary slides; 3) Read this week's issue out loud just like we do in the classroom each week; 4) Read the back of the magazine and answer the questions. 3. Math - This week's focus is Arrays. 1) Practice your addition and subtraction facts 0-20 (flashcards or Fact Dash); 2) Practice telling time throughout the day with an analog clock; 3) Practice adding and subtracting different amounts of money (coins and dollars); 4) Complete Math 4 Today Assessment #31 (I sent as an attachment in this morning's email); 5) Create an Array using items in your house or outside around your house. Make sure to include the repeated addition equation and the multiplication equation of the array you created. Use your creativity when completing this assignment. Take a picture of your array or create an Adobe Spark/Power Point and email to me!! 4. Writing - Please finish the final draft of your Personal Narrative and email it to me - a true story about your life. 1) Write a final draft of your narrative from what you wrote in your Writing Journal on a piece of notebook paper (like we did at school). On the top line of the paper, write the title of your Personal Narrative. On the 2nd line write By "your name." Remember to skip a line (space) between each of your paragraphs. 2) Draw an illustration/picture on the back of your notebook paper that has to do with your narrative. Please reread each sentence out loud to make sure it makes sense. Remember your capital letters and punctuation marks. Remember to use neat handwriting!! 3) You will be writing a letter to a new 2nd grade student starting in Mrs. Smith's class when school starts for the 2020-2021 school year. Start with your greeting of: Dear 2nd Grader, and then write about what we did in class this year: fun activities, parties, what you learned, etc. Don't forget to include your closing: From, (or use your creativity). 5. Social Studies - This is our last week for Social Studies. 1) Read Social Studies Weekly: Week #27 "Economic Choices" (7 pages) and if there is a video on that page, go ahead and watch it. 2) Complete the 1 activity at the end: Write a Sentence. Here are the steps to get to the Social Studies Weekly Magazine: 1) Go to the Cobb County Schools Homepage; 2) Click on the "Parents" tab at the top of the page; 3) Under "Parent Resources" scroll down to "Digital Textbooks" and click on it; 4) Click on "Kindergarten-2nd Grade;" 5) Scroll down to "Social Studies" and then scroll to the right so you're under the "2nd Grade Resources" column and click on "Social Studies Weekly;" 6) Click on the orange Grade 2 Georgia Studies Weekly- My State; 7) Scroll all the way down to Week 10 and click on the blue rectangle "Continue Reading;" 8) You should be ready to read all about Economic Choices. 7.
