Math - practice your addition and subtraction facts for Rocket Math and Around the World. I HOPE MANY OF YOU HAVE FUN AT FOOD TRUCK FRIDAY TONIGHT STARTING AT 6:00 PM!! THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR TURNING IN YOUR FIRE SAFETY FIELD TRIP PERMISSION FORMS SO PROMPTLY!! I RECEIVED THE LAST FORM TODAY!!! Your child has a specific day in the classroom when he/she can swap out his/her classroom library books from his/her book bin. I am also going to make this book swap day your child's designated day to go to the ILC in the mornings after unpacking his/her backpack to return, check-out, or renew his/her books from the ILC. Here is what we will be learning next week: Math- We will be continuing with place value to 1,000 and skip counting, and then moving to addition and subtraction strategies within 10. Reading/ELA- Ask and answer questions when we read/Learning about story structure (beginning, middle, and end). We will continue with nouns and adjectives. In phonics we are still learning and practicing long vs. short vowels. Writing- Personal narratives; Small moment stories. Science - We will continue with matter (solids, liquids, and gases) and investigating how it changes. We will also be describing and classifying different objects according to their properties (color, shape, texture, etc.) STEAM- Place Value Challenge Important Dates: August 29: Early Release at 12:15 pm August 30: Our 1st Guidance lesson with Mrs. Grindstaff
