Then explain and write down a sentence or two from the book that supports this characteristic. Math - keep practicing those addition and subtraction facts 0-20. Remember you need to know these by memory without using your fingers or a 100s chart. Keep telling time with an analog clock - write down what time it is when you go to the bathroom. Practice adding and subtracting different amounts of money (coins and dollars) - create a store and have your family pretend to buy items from you (you be the cashier). Moby Max - keep completing those lessons I have assigned you. Word Wizard - complete #1-9 on Set 3 Week 8. Scholastic Magazine - listen to this week's video again, go over the vocabulary slides, and complete your Read and Think worksheet. Make sure to use your question in your answer. Good Morning Team Smith on this foggy 141st day of school!!! Happy St. Patrick's Day too!!! Wear green so you don't get pinched!!!! I hope everyone survived the 1st day of our digital learning experience. This is going to take self-motivation, perseverance, and patience!!! What's our mission?..........One Team, One Goal........a community of engaged learners!!! WE GOT THIS and...........WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!
TODAY IS OUR TARGET DAY, SO MRS. WOOLLEY'S STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE WORK TO DO FROM HER. MY TARGET STUDENTS, HERE ARE SOME THINGS FOR YOU TO DO TODAY. MRS. WOOLLEY'S STUDENTS, YOU ARE WELCOME TO DO THE FOLLOWING TOO!!! Reading - read 20 minutes today and in your Reading Journal (remember today's date: 3/17/2020) write me at least 5 sentences (a summary) about the main idea of what you read. Please reread your sentences and make sure to use capital letters and periods!!! Math - 1) practice your addition and subtraction facts 0-20. You need to KNOW these by MEMORY and without using your fingers or a 100s chart to get the correct answer. 2) Practice telling time throughout the day on an analog clock. When you have to go to the bathroom, write down what time it is just like we do in the classroom. 3) Practice adding and subtracting with money (coins and dollars). Moby Max - review and extend Reading and Math concepts with the lessons I have assigned. Go ahead and work on Grammar, Science, and Social Studies concepts too with the lessons I have assigned. Math Practice Game - you have played this game in class - use a deck of cards and remove the Jokers, 10s, Jacks, Queens, and Kings (only use the Ace cards through the 9 cards); remember that the Ace cards = 1; shuffle your deck; flip 3 cards to make a 3 digit number and then flip 3 more cards to make your 2nd 3 digit number; add the 2 three digit numbers you created using decomposing and then subtract the 2 three digit numbers using decomposing on a piece of notebook paper. Science - I am going to try and give you the link to the Mystery Science lesson on "How do you get Germs?" that we started in class and never got to finish. Please let me know if you are able to watch it. Thanks! Here's the link: https://mysteryscience.com/mini-lessons/germs?code=3fb11 Writing - continue with your Opinion Piece. If you have finished that piece, start writing a fairy tale. Remember the elements of a fairy tale: good vs. evil, starts with Once Upon A Time, ends with Happily Ever After, tells a moral or lesson, fantasy, setting is a castle, woods/forest included, magic, fairy godmothers, princes, princesses............ PARENTS: This is a wonderful time to cook with your child(ren) - lots of math involved. We all have to eat everyday, so involve your child(ren). Put puzzles together, play board games, watch a movie, exercise/dance together, build a fort!! Spend quality time together. I have 3 grown kids (35, 33, and 28). They are so involved in their lives now that it's hard for ALL of us to get together. We had a family dinner together at the house on Sunday and something so simple was so fun and made me so very happy!!! Make memories with your child(ren). This is a time in all of our lives that we will never forget!! GOOD MORNING TEAM TRITT!!!!! HOPE EVERYONE HAD A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!!
Here's what I would like for everyone to try and get done today. Go at this all little by little since digital learning is new for each one of us. Pretend you are sitting at your desk in the classroom and just try and do a few things that we do as a class on Monday. Remember, don't overdo it. Read your Scholastic (St. Patrick's Day issue) magazine out loud just like we do every Monday. Before you read the magazine, go to the website (I sent you the link in Friday's blog) and watch the video and go through the vocabulary words just like we do in class every Monday. Complete the back of the magazine and then complete the "Watch this Video" worksheet that is the 1st one in your packet for this issue. 3. Practice your addition and subtraction facts 0-20 - go to Fact Dash in the Links section of my blog or use your flashcards. 4. Practice telling time on an analog clock. Write for 15 minutes - continue with your opinion piece that you are working on in school. You can use notebook paper to write your introduction, 3 reasons with an example to support each reason, and your conclusion. Remember to skip a line between each paragraph. Draw your picture on the back of the notebook paper. The above is just a schedule of what you can TRY and get done today!!!
