Math - review your addition and subtraction facts 0-20 to prepare yourself for Rocket Math. Thank you all so much for sending in your child's brown envelope with signed enrollment form!! All enrollment forms are already in the front office!! A handful (6) did not send in stamps with the envelope so I am assuming you will be waiting to pick up your child's 2nd grade report card with additional information for 2018-2019 at Meet and Greet in July. This Wednesday our 3rd quarter report cards will be sent home. Please keep this report card for your records and return the white envelope signature card. If you have questions or concerns regarding your child’s grades please do not hesitate to contact me. Focus on your er and or endings. Here are this week's words: paint, write, farm, act, sail, visit, swim, run, rob, painter, writer, farmer, actor, sailor, visitor, swimmer, runner, robber. You will be tested on all the er/or words and 3 of the other words. Chick-fil-A Night is this evening from 5-8 pm!!! EARLY RELEASE IS THIS WEDNESDAY, 3/14!!! Math - review your addition and subtraction facts 0-20 for Rocket Math. We had a fun visit with Mrs. Porter this morning. She use to be a Dental Hygienist and was sharing her wisdom with us about our teeth and mouth!! Here is what we will be learning about next week: Math- We will be reviewing coins/bills and their values. We will be solving money word problems involving coins and dollar bills. Reading- We will continue to focus on folk tales, fairy tales, and fables. We will concentrate on story elements, morals/lessons, and character point of view. We will continue comparing/contrasting different versions of the same story. ELA - We will learn about homophones and focus on common word endings: -er, -or. We will continue with shades of meaning. Writing- Opinion Writing - continue focusing on transitions, reasons, and examples. Science- We will continue learning about the Sun and attributes of stars such as size, brightness, color, etc. We will also compare the Sun to other stars based on its attributes. Health - Dental Hygiene Important Dates and Info: Monday - Chick-fil-A Night: 5-8 pm Wednesday - Early Release Thursday- ILC with Mrs. Bates Reading - try to read at least 20 minutes this evening.
